Breda sits on the Sauk Rail Trail. You can ride hard surface from the edge of town toward Black Hawk Lake one way, or down to Swan Lake near Carroll the other. Your children would go to the Carroll district. It's a quiet place to own a house, and you're close enough to Carroll that the drive isn't a decision you've to think about. Grew up around the Maple branch of the Chicago and North Western railroad, and was named after the Dutch city of Breda by a settler who came from there.
